JULY FOURTH PARTIERS HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE TO DRIVING AFTER DRINKING – AAA’S TIPSY TOW

NEWS from AAA South Dakota, June 28 – AAA’s popular Tipsy Tow service is once again being provided by AAA South Dakota for the Independence Day holiday period, which runs from 6 p.m. July 1 until 6 a.m. July 5, in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Aberdeen, Mitchell and Yankton.

“If you feel unsafe behind the wheel after drinking at a holiday party or get-together, AAA South Dakota will come get you and your vehicle and we’ll give both a free, safe ride home,” said Mark Madeja, spokesman for AAA South Dakota.

AAA developed the Tipsy Tow program to offer drivers who have been drinking an alternative to climbing behind the wheel and endangering themselves and others on the road. Over the holidays, up to 40 percent of all fatal crashes involve alcohol.

To access AAA’s Tipsy Tow service, call 1-800-222-4357 and ask for Tipsy Tow. The service is offered free, no questions asked, to both AAA members and non-members alike. AAA will give you and your car a ride home, within a 15-mile radius from the point of pick-up, anytime, day or night, during the four-and-a-half day period.

AAA South Dakota offers Tipsy Tow as a community service annually over the St. Patrick’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
