Disney Cruise Line Entertainment Brings Beloved Disney Characters to Life

From Broadway-style shows to adventurous deck parties, Disney Cruise Line offers a full itinerary of exciting entertainment for guests to enjoy on every sailing. Particularly exciting is the debut of a brand new musical titled "Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story,” which recently opened aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship.

"As part of the Disney Cruise Line experience, our guests have told us that they love seeing our beloved Disney characters come to life onstage. We continually update our entertainment offerings with new ways for guests to enjoy their favorite Disney characters," said Jim Urry, Director of Entertainment for Disney Cruise Line.

Filled with humor, music, and adventure, "Twice Charmed" does just that. The production immerses the audience in a story that begins where the original ended, and features Cinderella, Prince Charming, and other favorites from the original fairy tale classic — along with a new and wickedly funny character named Franco DiFortunato. The 52-minute production features a rich musical score with six original compositions and two classic Disney songs including the beloved "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" and "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes."

"Twice Charmed" joins an already impressive line-up of Broadway-style musicals showing nightly at the magnificent 977-seat Walt Disney Theatre:

"The Golden Mickeys" — Entertains guests of every age by combining theatrical song and dance, animated film, video, and special effects to create the most technologically advanced stage show at sea. This quintessential musical is a salute to Walt Disney and his legacy of animation magic, featuring many of Disney's most famous and infamous characters.

"Disney Dreams" — The signature Disney Cruise Line show that tells a bedtime story featuring Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, Ariel, and many other popular Disney characters who together teach a young girl the power of her dreams.

"All Aboard: Let the Magic Begin" — Featuring variety acts, musical performances, and a cavalcade of Disney characters, this production tells the story of a young cruise passenger trying to achieve his dream of becoming a seafaring captain, while inviting guests to sit back and Be Our Guest for a fun-filled week. (Disney Magic only)

"Remember the Magic: A Final Farewell" — Guests join together on the final night of their cruise to remember the magic of their Disney Cruise Line vacation. (Disney Magic only)

In addition to the stage shows, Disney Cruise Line offers a host of special parties throughout its seven-night voyages. The newest is an adventurously themed deck party, Pirates IN the Caribbean, which features the ruthless Captain Hook and Captain Mickey in an evening sail-away celebration duel. With bandanas for all guests, stunt performers repelling from atop the funnel, and an all-new dazzling fireworks display, this party's sure to make everyone a pirate for the night.

After the "The Golden Mickeys" show, guests can be part of the Hollywood "in-crowd" at The Golden Mickeys Backstage Pass After Parties, one for families and one for adults only. Families can rock the night away with live music and participate in sing-a-longs at Studio Sea, while the adult party features more live music and an unforgettable New Year's Eve finale in the nighttime entertainment district.

The Walt Disney Theatre also hosts first-run Disney film premieres, allowing cruisers to enjoy a film's opening night at the same time it's making its nationwide release on land. The Buena Vista Theater also runs recent releases.

Additionally, guests enjoy daily character greetings, variety acts, and live entertainment tributes to the decades of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Topping off the cruise experience, select characters and performers bid a final farewell at "Til We Meet Again," for an encore in the atrium lobby, ending the cruise with a Disney pixie-dusted kiss goodnight.

A leader in the family cruise segment, Disney Cruise Line offers three-, four-, and seven-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Land/sea vacation packages that include a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort are also available. In addition to the seven-night Caribbean cruises, the Disney Magic will return to the West Coast for seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises in the summer of 2008.
