Inspiring National Parks Worldwide
If you’re interested in visiting some of the world’s most inspiring national parks, check out these:
Eagle Valley National Park, Mongolia
Eagle Valley is a world unto itself. Among the sights you’ll see are the world’s biggest wild sheep, which roam alongside a wild camel or two, a collection of dinosaur eggs excavated from the grounds and now located in the park’s museum, and, perhaps most amazing, an ice-covered stream that flows through the valley of the infamous Gobi Desert. The stream is always covered by a layer of ice, even on the hottest day of the year.

Grand Canyon National Park, United States
Simply put, the Grand Canyon takes your breath away. Its two rims, North and South, are two different worlds, each with a unique view. Listen to coyote songs and watch endangered eagles soar all around you. Hike the park’s trails, both along the rims and down to the canyon floor, and view the canyon from top to bottom, literally.

Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica
Some 50 miles northwest of the city of Limon, Tortuguero is perhaps the Caribbean’s best place for watching the rare and endangered Green Sea and Hawksbill turtles. The park’s best spot is on Tortuguero’s beach, where you can watch the turtles nest and lay eggs. But the best way to view the park is by boat, as you travel through the maze of canals, spying otters, monkeys, and, if you’re especially lucky, manatees.

Kakadu National Park, Australia
Aboriginal culture, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking natural scenery — Kakadu has it all. Roughly 160 miles east of Darwin, Kakadu’s 7,500 square miles are like a cross-section of Australia itself. Towering rock escarpments throughout the park, like Ubirr or Nourlangie Rocks, are covered in ancient Aborigine rock art, and, depending on the season, you’ll share space with wallabies, dingoes, goannas, and, you guessed it, crocodiles.

Banff National Park, Canada
High in the Canadian Rockies, Banff National Park is the very essence of a nature reserve — stunning mountain scenery, glistening Lake Louise, and more than 50 species of North America’s wildest animals. From scenic raft rides, to helicopter and gondola rides, to walking among flower-filled Sunshine Meadows, this World Heritage site is an outdoor enthusiast’s playground.
