AAA.com Features Winning Teen Traffic Safety Video
NEWS from AAA South Dakota, Dec. 8 – Three winning public service announcements promoting teen traffic safety – written and produced by teenagers – have been posted to AAA South Dakota’s Web site: www.AAA.com/teensdrive.
“These 60-second PSAs are remarkable not only for their professionalism but also for the positive impact they can have on teen drivers,” said Mark Madeja, spokesman for AAA South Dakota. “We’re hoping teens and parents will take a look at them, and download them for viewing by other teens.”
The PSAs were the winners in a special online competition sponsored by AAA Insurance. Kenahn Ghazal, 14 years old, captured the $2,000 grand prize, Elizabeth Vega won the $700 second place prize and Kara Grace Dawson received the $300 third place prize. The top winners were determined by an online voting poll.
“Ghazal’s video focused on the dangers of texting while driving, with innovative use of content and style,” said Madeja. “The contest allowed teens to demonstrate their creative abilities while helping spread the message of traffic safety to their peers.”
AAA South Dakota, a not-for-profit, tax-paying membership organization, provides automotive, insurance, travel and financial-related services to 89,650 AAA members throughout the state. Since its founding, AAA South Dakota has been a leading advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
