AAA TO HOST SAFETY FESTIVAL & BLOCK PARTY
Event will feature free car checks, child car seat inspections,
entertainment, refreshments, giveaways, and drawings for
gift certificates and a Grand Canyon Railway vacation package
NEWS from AAA South Dakota, Sept. 6 – The largest safety festival AAA has ever put on will be held this Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the AAA office in Rapid City, located at 815 St. Joseph St.
Vehicle inspections will be conducted to make sure cars are ready for winter, technicians will perform child car seat checks, and AAA will offer its popular CarFit program for senior drivers. The first 100 AAA members who arrive will receive free deluxe ice scrapers. All events are free and open to the public.
A “Thank You, South Dakota” block party will be going on at the same time, featuring live music by The Noteables, door prizes, free refreshments, special offers from some of AAA’s best discount partners, vacation giveaways including a Grand Canyon Railway “Rails to the Rim” package, free goody bags for all AAA members, half-price AAA membership upgrades and half-price associate memberships, as well as exclusive travel and insurance offers.
“We’re excited to be offering three free, vital safety events simultaneously,” said Mark Madeja, spokesman for AAA South Dakota. “CarFit helps ensure that mature drivers are able to use their car’s safety equipment to its maximum benefit. Child car seats can be bewildering, particularly to young parents. It’s a good idea to make sure they’re installed properly. Most are not. And it’s especially important to have your vehicle checked now in advance of this winter’s challenging weather. Auto experts from Doug’s Sinclair and Absolute Towing will perform these under-the-hood inspections.”
The AAA office at 815 St. Joseph St. is located on eastbound Business I-90, just west of Mt. Rushmore Rd., in the heart of Rapid City. For more information, visit www.AAA.com/MemberDay or call the Rapid City AAA office at (605) 342-8482.
